Times of Trouble
Ok, so this isn't normal. Everyone's going nuts! Isolation and facemasks and all of these crazy safety measures. In the picture above, there is a picture of choppy waves. You wouldn't want to be caught in that in a boat trip, huh? That'd be big trouble. It can feel like we have no control over our life. "He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm." Direct quote from the Bible that proves Jesus has control over our lives, and the lives of others. And it's not like a chore. 1 Peter 5:7 says "Cast all your anxieties on him because he cares for you."
John 16:33 says (NIV version) "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, for I have overcome the world." So trouble isn't just a possibility, it's a constant. It's guaranteed. But, don't get all depressed. Jesus tells us to take heart, which means to have courage and confidence. He has overcome the world. The definition of overcome is succeed with dealing with a problem or difficulty. This sinful earth is kind of a problem, but Jesus tells us that our planet, and all of its problems, are overcome, defeated, vanquished! We are fighting the good fight, so stand firm!
