Self-Discipline
I do Martial Arts class. It is on Zoom now, but we still do lessons. Martial arts class is tough, and we do hard workouts every time. Even though the workouts are hard, I know that they are helping me become a better martial artist. I discipline myself by putting 100% effort into these classes. Maybe you have something like that too. It doesn't have to be like a sport. It can be an instrument, it can be your homework, it can even be cleaning your room! We put a lot into these to discipline ourselves.
What does the Bible say about discipline? In Hebrews 12:11, it says:
"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."This means that even though discipline is hard, it will be ultimately good for us. We can apply this to parents disciplining their children, and God disciplining Christians. Although it seems painful at the time, it will 'produce a harvest of righteousness and peace.'
